Anime Boston Recap April 14, 2008

Well.. I had Grand plans for a page and pictures and gos know swhat else..

So Thursday.. Went to school.. Freaked out the entire day XD Got NO work done. Walked to Kate 2.0’s house after school to et her stuff all together. Bobbert picked us up from there at 3. Picked up Natty and went back to his house to wait for my Mom and all the other girls going.

She got there late and we nearly misssed the train. BUT! We met a whole bunch of people going to AB too! Yay train friends!!

We walked from South Station to a mall.. across a skybridge to another mall down the stairs to the Hynes. Woohoo! There was already a line for Pre Reg Pickup. Sam and I waited in it. I picked up the badges for everyone and she grabbed her’s. We hung out with train friends for awhile and then met mom and Co. at the food court for food… yummy food. And headed back to the hotel room for poolage. Whee pool!

Friday was a barrel of fun too! first day of the con! Whooo!!! I puttered about talking to random people and keeping my friends stuck in line nourished.. XD They were in line for a looong time. ^.^

Kate 2.0 and I walked over to This shop on Newbury St. called Johnny Cupcakes. she bought a shirt and we headed back to our hotel room to drop off the stuff we’d gathered along the day. Swin for awhile and shower.

Took an hour to get ready for the Dance/Rave. Waited in line for an hour. turns out we were actually in line for a small JRock concert that was right before the dance. But that was good. The band was ridiculously cute.. Though I think the only things they could actually say in English were Herro Boston! and Do You Like (insert random halfword)?!

Needless to say.. we raved the night away! Techno music and bad dancing and smelly otakus! It was great!

We spent all night with some crazies in out Lobby.. it was fun

saturday went almost the same way cept I kept falling asleep places.. I went swimming again too XD

Sunday was lazzzyyy… wandered the dealers room and artists alley before going home..

That’s right! I go to school, twitch through it. And then tonight…

I get on the train with a bunch of loonies tonight! and we pick up Registration tonight! and go swimming tonight! And then I have to sleep tonight!

Then I wake up to the best weekend of my year!!! WAHOO!

AND! Scabbers got out of work a little early yesterday so he came over and laughed at me while I talked to myself and packed. And talked to my clothes/shampoo/makeup.

Apparently he finds my habit of talking to the stuff I’m packing VERY funny.. XD

A Design and a Gift March 17, 2008

Well.. Amognst all the crazy things I want to do before I’m old enough to have a mid-life crisis about not having done them. I want to make my own line of semi-formal dress designs.

I know… not something you expect from someone who dresses like a bum all the time. :)

I think i have a certain flair for it… But even if I’m never famous or anything I wanna make a few and sell them at flea markets or something. It’d be a cool thing to do I think :) Mebbe an internet shop someday. When I take the time to learn to make patterns myself XD

As for the gift.. My mom asked me to make a simple sketchy for one of her friends who just started her own massage therapy buisness called a Touch of Time. She wanted me to color it with the companies colors. But. She wanted the sketch for tomorrow and she told me about it… a few hours ago…

And the sketch idea that came up just doesn’t match a red and gold coloring. I didn’t realize those were the colors until AFTER I drew it because mom couldn’t find the business card. XD

So it’s just a simple sketch. But she’s gonna frame it and make it look all lovely I guess before she gives her friend it as a gift.

A Warm Fuzzy Feeling March 16, 2008

you see… I’m 18.. I’m thinking about colleges… I have a liscense… I’m ridiculously giddy about an upcomming event.. I’m going to my Senior Dinner Dance.. I even have a date to it. I’m socializing quite well with people I’m just meeting. I’ve actually made new friends without the help of anybody else in one of my classes. I’m not failing anything. I even have a boyfriend to complete the totally normal picture.

Though the thing that tops it all off, this normal thing.

My mom doesn’t like my boyfriend. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Is it bad that I find this to be a comforting thought? Maybe not COMFORTING… but like.. a small little thread to keep me from being totally odd.. Because really. I’m pretty far from normal. even when I dress the part XD

Though I like him for other reasons of course… that one is sticking out right now. Point of tension in recent days kind of thing.

I’ll probably post an update or two before the Con. but from Thursday to Sunday next week. I’ll be off in the land of awesome!

Ten days. The countdown starts TONIGHT! TEN DAYS UNTIL HEAVEN AND HELL COMES TO TOWN!

ANIME BOSTON 2008!

This my friends is the second biggest Gathering of Anime Fans on the East Coast. A bnch of insanely hyper, sugar loving, costume wearing 10-30year old people (and that one lady with the hats.)Come together for a weekend in Boston and take over the Hynes Convention center/Sheraton/Prudential Mall/ Comply place hotel/ alot of the surrounding area.

You will see many crazies wearing strange getups (yes strange even for Boston) And you’ll hear more people screaming and galavanting in the late late hours of the night. All the 24hour feeding places will remember why they’re open at 4am.

The conservative people who don’t know of this comming will feel confused. Though hopefully not threatened. For we are a friendly bunch and will answer any and all questions (no matter how rude) with a huge freaking smile because we are SO HAPPY to be together again for another weekend of constant sugarhighs shared by over 9,000 people. (not a lie… check the site)

There will be a ballroom full of amature (and not so amature) artists selling their wares. There will be a gigantor ballroomand a half filed with online shops come to life. There will be 24/3 showings of anime. There will be 24/3 game room time.

And there will be raves. Oh yes the raves. Two of the Sheratons Ballrooms filled to fire hazard capacitey with people jumping and screaming and dancing. Dj’s blaring mixes scattered with anime theme songs. And people selling glowsticks.

Yes all of this insanity is an anime convention. A Convention full of people going crazy over cartoons. Damn straight. It’s the best weekend you’ll ever have. ^_^ I’ll be there in my weirdest clothes though probably looking the most normal

~ And it’s in ten days man! Well… we’re headed to Boston in ten days. I’ll pick up everyones reg badges in ten days. and in 11… the party begins!!!! Get your cat ears and bring lots of pocky to ward off the fangirls!

School Snow Nicknames and MOAR December 8, 2007

So… I finished* my DPHS site. I worked most of the kinks out (unless you’re looking at it on an uber laptop screen). And my DC teacher left me a message on the courseware asking if I’d like to make designs for all the other schools in the district. :: dances :: I feel so cool! XDD

*By finished I obviously mean it has all the pages but two of them have nothing on them because freewebs won’t let me. ^.^

It SNOWEEEDDDD not on my birthday… but the day afteer! that’s good enough for me! I had a small birthday party with friends and family at my mothers house yesterday. it was fun… we made sketti and sauce.. and had cake and ice cream.. and my friends actually hauled themselves out to my moms town in the snow for meee XD.

The boy had to leave early though because his little sibling had to go to bed by nine. Ah well. And now i have said little siblings socks in my backpack to give the boy next time i see him… cause the little one left them in Connors room. XD Go little kids haha.

Also… I guess my name is kinda strange eh? Welps. I got my nickname when I was in 6th grade and it’s followed me through school and a move to a new town. :: grins :: even the boy calls me it half the time. Alrighty. In 6th grade I had a friend named Rin. Well… I can’t remember her regular name now. I called her Rin. And I was WAYYY in to anime. Like REALLY. I’m nowhere near as bad now. Anywahhhy. She decided I should have a japanese nickname one day. At the time I was madly obsessed with Inuyasha. So I wanted the word Inu in my name. Inu means dog. And since I was always pretty short amongst my friends then. So she put Ki in the front of it. Telling me it meant cute. gahaha… not.

But ya know… 12 year olds and other languages aren’t always reliable. It really Means Energy. My nickname is really a strange mixture of the two words Ki and Inu. KiInu.. but nobody who reads it can ever pronounce it as two words for some reason. and over the years it’s just become Kiinu. And nost people just pronounce it Kee-noo now… heck even I do. but back then it started at Key-In-Oo.. threee syllables XD

It’s mutated into Kiinu over the years and I’m alright ith that XD So now you all know. KiinuNoBaka really just means Stupid Kiinu or… Kiinu has lots of Stupid. directly… XD

Annd… moar? hmm.. I have a pet bunny and Rat now… we’re just adding to our strange mixture of animals… the house is becomming noahs ark almost… Just gotta convince mom to let me have a bat… BUAHAHAHAHA it’ll never happen
